Caption Generator

Instagram Caption Generator: Captions and Hashtags

Write three to ten words about the post, choose a tone and a language, and you get five different captions with hashtags. Each one shows its length against the 2,200 limit and where Instagram will cut it behind more. Copy the one you like and paste it into your post.

Your words go to our server only when you press the button, and are not stored. The counter and formatting work in your browser.

26 / 1,500. Three to ten words are enough.

5 generations a day, no sign-up. Each one gives you five captions.

Read every caption before you publish: a model can get a detail wrong. The 2,200 and 125 marks come from Instagram’s help pages and can change.

How it works

  1. Say what is in the postA few words are enough: the place, the mood, the thing you are showing. Pick a tone such as casual, funny or professional, choose one of 20 languages, and decide whether you want hashtags.
  2. Get five captionsThe generator writes five captions with different angles, each one to three short sentences, with three to eight hashtags. If none of them fits, write five more.
  3. Check the length and copyEvery caption shows its character count against the 2,200 limit and a mark where Instagram hides the rest behind more. Copy the text alone or with the hashtags, then paste it into your post.

How long should an Instagram caption be

Instagram allows 2,200 characters in a caption and up to 30 hashtags, but the feed shows only the first line or two before the more link, around 125 characters. The captions here keep the point in the first sentence so it survives the cut, and the counter shows where that line falls. Hashtags go on a separate line so you can put them in the caption or in the first comment.

Captions for TikTok, Reels and other posts

The same form works for a TikTok caption or a Reel: describe the video instead of the photo and choose a shorter tone such as witty or short. TikTok and Instagram cut text at different points, so check the counter and keep the hook in the first sentence. The generator does not post anything anywhere; you copy the text and paste it where you need it.

Questions

Where do my words go?

When you press the button, the words you typed and your tone and language settings go to our own server, which sends them to OpenRouter (openrouter.ai) to run a language model made by OpenAI and write the captions, and then discards the request. We do not store your text or the captions, and we do not link them to a person. OpenRouter and the model host do not keep them either. The character counter and formatting work in your browser only.

Why only five generations a day?

Each generation costs us a fraction of a cent, and the tool has no ads and no sign-up, so a daily limit keeps it free for everyone. Five generations give you 25 captions. The limit resets every day.

Does it post to my Instagram account?

No. The site never connects to Instagram and does not ask for your login. You copy a caption and paste it into your post yourself. Read every caption before you publish it: a model can get a detail wrong.
